If there’s one thing about me it’s that I’m a beverage girl. I love to have multiple delicious drinks on me at all times. I used to go by two beverage Rachel in high school because you would never see me without a minimum of two bevies.

Here are 5 spring-inspired mocktails to refresh you and quench your thirst. If you want to add a lil’ alchy I won’t tell anyone though!

P.s. If you scroll down to the bottom you’ll find a video tutorial on each of the mocktails. :)

General Notes

Before we get into it I wanted to share some general notes about substitutions to ingredients and methods.

  • You’ll see that these recipes call for muddling. If you don’t have anything to muddle with (like a muddler or say the handle of a wooden spoon) you can always use a blender of any variety! I ended up using an immersion blender for all the recipes to make it easy on myself.

  • If you see an ingredient you aren’t a fan of you can always swap it for something that you love! Don’t like basil but you love mint? Swap it! Recipes can so easily be adapted and turned into something you love.

  • No shaker? Stir instead. Pro tip: a mason jar with a lid works excellently.

Honey Syrup / Simple Syrup Recipe

  • Combine equal parts sugar or honey with hot water. Stir until dissolved. Store in an air-tight container in a cool dry place.

Strawberry Basil Lemonade Mocktail

Ingredients:

  • Container of strawberries

  • Bunch of basil

  • 1-2 Lemons

  • 1oz Simple Syrup

  • One can of plain seltzer

Instructions:

  • In a glass, muddle 10 fresh strawberries and 8-10 basil leaves

  • Add ice, 2 oz lemon juice, 1 oz simple syrup, and 6 oz sparkling water

  • Shake well and strain into a glass filled with ice

  • Garnish with a strawberry and a sprig of fresh basil

Notes:

  • Want a little more lemon flavor? Try zesting your lemon and adding that to the drink as well.
